This is the statue of Peter Muhlenberg that sits on the second floor of the US Capitol Building. Peter Muhlenberg was an ordained minister from Pennsylvania, and also a soldier. As the revolutionary war was about to start he had to decide whether to stay at home or go help the American cause. During a mass he said, "To every thing there is a season...a time of war, and a time of peace," he declared, "And this is the time of war," removing his clerical robe to reveal his Colonel's uniform. Outside the church door the drums began to roll as men turned to kiss their wives and then walked down the aisle to enlist, and within half an hour, 162 men were enrolled. The next day he led out 300 men from the county to form the nucleus of the 8th Virginia Regiment. He inspires me because he was faced with tough choices, but did what he thought was right.
This is Pat Tillman, he was a professional football player who left the NFL to join the army after September 11, 2001, A lot of people thought he was crazy for do what he did, but I admire him for being his own person and not letting what other people say affect him negatively,
This is a photograph of Henri Rosseau, my favorite artist. During his lifetime other artists made fun of him and his work because he was not a full-time artist, and did not study art in school. He went on to become one of the most prolific and successful artists of his generation.
This is Jeff Bridges, my favorite actor. Jeff Bridges inspires me because he is always wiling to take risks and try new things. He started acting at 5 and has been in almost 100 films.
